US Bitcoin ETF Attracts $50 Billion in Fastest Growth for Investment Funds

The Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (Bitcoin ETF) in US markets has attracted over $50 billion in assets under management since its launch, recording the fastest pace of inflows in the history of exchange-traded funds, surpassing the record set by the famous SPDR Gold Trust in 2004.

BlackRock, Fidelity, and Vanguard top the list of managers for these funds in terms of assets under management, while investor inflow data indicates that major financial institutions, such as pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, represent the fastest-growing segment in the investor base.

Trading reports indicate that the fund alone sometimes absorbs double the amount of new Bitcoin mined daily from the network, exacerbating supply pressure on the price under the halving protocol that reduced rewards.

Analysts emphasize that this institutional opening is reshaping investors' view of Bitcoin, moving it from a speculative tool to a reserve asset used to hedge against inflation, similar to gold.

What do these terms mean?

Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF): An investment vehicle traded on an exchange like a regular stock, but tracking the performance of an asset (gold, stock, or cryptocurrency) — allowing the investor to gain exposure to the price of the asset without owning it directly.

Halving: An event programmed approximately every four years in the Bitcoin network that reduces the mining reward for the currency by half, lowering the rate of new Bitcoin issuance and theoretically constraining supply.

Reserve Asset: An asset that investors resort to in times of crisis or inflation to preserve the value of their wealth — gold is the classic model, and efforts are being made to bestow this status upon Bitcoin.
