Marriott raises outlook after RevPAR grows 6.5% in third quarter

Marriott International's revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose 6.5% year on year in the third quarter of 2026, driven by 7.4% growth in the US and Canada and 4.4% internationally, with higher average daily rate and occupancy worldwide.

The company raised its full-year 2026 global RevPAR growth outlook to a range of 4.5% to 5%. Chief executive Anthony Capuano said travel demand had been remarkably robust this year despite geopolitical uncertainty, with broad-based growth across customer segments and chain scales.

Leisure RevPAR rose 7% globally and 9% in the US and Canada, group RevPAR rose 6% globally and 7% in the US and Canada, and business transient RevPAR rose 4% globally and 5% in the US and Canada, while luxury and resort hotels led growth in the US and Canada with a 12% increase. Chief financial officer Jen Mason said the World Cup in June and July supported the results.

On development, the hotel pipeline reached a record 634,000 rooms, up more than 6% year on year, and the company added about 20,100 net rooms in the quarter, representing 4.6% net rooms growth. Mason expects strong demand trends to continue in the fourth quarter across chain scales and customer segments in the US and Canada.
