90,836 Saudi families move into their first home in nine months
90,836 Saudi families moved into their first homes between January and September 2026, as part of efforts to raise homeownership to 70% by 2030.

90,836 Saudi families moved into their first homes during the period from January to September 2026, according to Amlak citing the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
Some 73,614 families benefited from housing support programmes during the same period, while the number of Sakani contracts since 2017 reached about 1.068 million.
This activity is linked to the target of raising Saudis' homeownership rate to 70% by 2030, one of the main goals of the kingdom's housing policy.
The figures reflect the actual movement into new units, not merely the number of applications or financing granted, offering an indicator of how quickly support is converted into ready housing.
What do these terms mean?
Housing support: Government programmes that provide financial or financing support or ready housing to eligible families to help them own a home.
Sakani contracts: Financing or ownership agreements concluded under the Sakani programme between the beneficiary and the financing or development entity.
Homeownership rate: The share of families that own their home out of all families in the country, used as an indicator of housing policy.
