Qatar condemns attack on LNG carrier Al-Maida in the Gulf
Nakilat said LNG carrier Al-Maida was hit by unidentified objects in the Arabian Gulf, with no crew injuries or environmental impact, as Qatar condemned it.

Nakilat (Qatar Gas Transport Company) said its LNG carrier Al-Maida was hit by unidentified objects while crossing the Arabian Gulf on the evening of Friday, 30 October 2026, according to a statement published on the Qatar Stock Exchange and carried by the Qatar News Agency.
The company said none of the crew was injured and the incident had no environmental impact. It added that the vessel is safe and operational, that it is assessing the impact of the incident, and that it is coordinating directly with the vessel, the crew and maritime security authorities in the region.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack, calling it "a dangerous act that threatens the safety of maritime navigation and the security of global energy supplies".
Nakilat did not disclose the origin of the objects that struck the vessel or its exact location, and said it continues to monitor the situation closely alongside the relevant maritime authorities to ensure the crew's safety.
