Moove Raises $250 Million to Expand Vehicle Financing for Ride-Hailing Drivers

Mobility fintech company Moove has raised $250 million in a new funding round, signaling growing confidence in the vehicle financing model for gig workers on ride-hailing platforms.

Founded in 2020 in Lagos, Nigeria, Moove enables drivers on platforms like Uber to own their vehicles through flexible financing plans repaid directly from their trip earnings, eliminating the need for traditional bank loans.

The company has expanded to 13 cities across markets in Africa, the Middle East, and India, and intends to use the new funding to target additional markets and strengthen its customer portfolio of independent drivers.

Analysts believe the new round highlights the maturity of the mobility fintech sector in financing fleets for gig workers as a profitable and scalable business model.
