Egypt Closes Booking for 10,000 Rent-to-Own Units on October 19

On Monday, October 19, 2026, the deadline expires for applying for 10,000 housing units offered by the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities under the rent-to-own scheme, through the New Urban Communities Authority.

Applications are submitted electronically via the "Maskan" platform, with the requirement to create an account on the "Digital Egypt" platform to verify the applicant's identity and complete booking procedures. The offering includes approximately 5,000 completed units ready for delivery, and another 5,000 units planned for execution over three years.

The areas of units ready for delivery range between 57 and 161 square meters, while the areas of planned units range between 90 and 126 square meters. The units are distributed across 26 new cities, including New 6th of October, New Obour, New Borg El Arab, New Alamein, 10th of Ramadan Gardens, Sadat City, New Minya, and New Sohag.

A family comprising husband, wife, and minor children is not entitled to apply for more than one unit within the offering. Payment procedures also vary depending on the unit's execution phase, urging interested applicants to review the terms and conditions booklet to learn about rental values, maintenance expenses, and delivery dates.

What Do These Terms Mean?

Rent-to-Own: A system in which a citizen rents a unit in exchange for periodic payments and owns it at the end of the contract term.

New Urban Communities Authority: The Egyptian government agency responsible for establishing and managing new cities.

Booking Deposit: An advance amount paid by the applicant to reserve the unit, which is deducted from the total contract value.
