Qatar's justice minister: legal profession law amendments under preparation
Qatar's justice minister said amendments to the legal profession law and related decisions are under review, without disclosing texts or effective dates.

Qatar's Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi said Qatar is working on amendments to the law regulating the legal profession along with related legal decisions.
The minister explained, in a speech at the Gulf Lawyers Forum in Doha on 2 November 2026, that the review is being conducted in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the ministry's strategy.
The minister did not disclose the texts of the amendments or the articles they would cover, nor did he set effective dates.
The announcement comes as Qatar continues to modernise its legislative frameworks in several sectors, without meaning the amendments have entered into force.
What do these terms mean?
Law regulating the legal profession: The law setting the conditions for practising law and the rights and duties of lawyers in Qatar.
Qatar National Vision 2030: A long-term strategic plan setting Qatar's goals in economic, social, human and environmental development.
Legal decisions: Decisions issued by competent bodies to implement or regulate the details of a law, and they are binding alongside the main text.
