The Kuwait Stock Exchange closed Monday lower for the fourth consecutive session, as the General Market Index lost 39.17 points to reach 8,346.97, a decline of 0.47%.

Trading volume reached 311.6 million shares worth KD 79 million, about $256.8 million, across 19,512 transactions. The Main Market Index fell 0.75% to 8,300.62 points, while the Premier Market Index dropped 0.41% to 8,789.99 points.

The Main 50 index recorded the largest loss among the indices, falling 1.59% to 9,183.52 points after a 147.95-point decline, indicating greater selling pressure on the heavily weighted stocks in that index.

The fourth consecutive decline comes as Gulf markets continue to perform unevenly, with continued pressure on oil prices and investor concerns about its impact on the region's revenues.
