SpaceX in talks to buy Boost Mobile and build a US network
SpaceX is in talks with EchoStar to buy Boost Mobile or access its wireless network, a Washington Post report said, with neither company confirming.

SpaceX is exploring buying EchoStar-owned Boost Mobile or obtaining the right to access its wireless network, according to a report published by The Washington Post citing people familiar with the talks.
Neither company confirmed an agreement or disclosed the value of a potential deal. The discussion is linked to SpaceX's purchase of low-band spectrum licences in October, a deal still awaiting approval from the US Federal Communications Commission and expected to close in the first half of 2027.
In today's trading, SpaceX shares rose about 4%, while AST SpaceMobile shares fell about 4%. EchoStar shares were up about 1% at $98.08 after the Washington Post report.
The talks could end with a full purchase of Boost Mobile or with securing SpaceX access to the network arrangements linking Boost Mobile to two national carriers, including T-Mobile. The two companies have not announced any final agreement.
