Nvidia Joins $14 Million Round in India's Simplismart
India's Simplismart raised $14 million in a Series B funding round led by Dallas Venture Capital with participation from Nvidia, at a valuation of around $100 million.

Nvidia participated in a $14 million funding round for India's Simplismart, betting on software that helps companies run AI models more efficiently and, in some cases, with fewer GPUs. The all-primary Series B round was led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from Accel, Shastra VC, and Micromax alongside Nvidia, according to TechCrunch.
The deal values the four-year-old company at nearly $100 million including the new funding. Companies are spending heavily on GPUs to run AI applications, but running models reliably and cost-effectively at scale remains a challenge, as different workloads require different trade-offs between speed, cost, and performance.
Simplismart's software sits between AI models and the underlying infrastructure, tailoring model deployment and management to customer requirements. The company says it can improve model latency, throughput, and compute utilization, enabling businesses to get more out of their existing hardware. The company offers its platform for running models in the cloud or on-premise, along with tools for fine-tuning, autoscaling, and performance monitoring.
The company said it helped AI video generation platform InVideo reduce GPU operating costs by 56%. Indian cloud provider Yotta is also working with it to power a serverless inference service within its Shakti Studio platform. The company's annual revenue run rate grew 14-fold over the past six months to reach an eight-figure number, according to CEO Amritanshu Jain, who noted that more than half of the revenue comes from the US. The new funding will be allocated toward expanding in the US market, growing the team, and developing inference software.
What do these terms mean?
Inference: The stage of using an AI model after training to answer a request or complete a task, which is the stage where it actually consumes computing power.
GPUs: Chips originally designed for graphics processing, but widely used to run AI models because they execute parallel calculations efficiently.
Series B Round: A funding stage following the first round, entered after proving the product and beginning growth, typically used for market expansion and team development.
Valuation: The estimated market value of a company as determined by investors in a funding round, typically encompassing equity value before and after the new capital injection depending on the deal structure.
