Egypt's Foreign Exchange Reserves Hit Record High of $57.35 Billion
Egypt's net foreign exchange reserves reached approximately $57.35 billion by the end of September 2026, marking the highest level in its history and approaching $58 billion.

Net foreign exchange reserves at the Central Bank of Egypt reached approximately $57.35 billion by the end of September 2026, the highest level in the country's history, approaching the $58 billion mark for the first time.
The Central Bank of Egypt attributes this increase to higher foreign exchange inflows into the economy, which supported the reserves in continuing to record peak levels over recent months.
Central bank data showed that net foreign assets of the banking sector reached $31.2 billion by the end of August 2026, the highest level since 2011, driven by an increase in foreign currency inflows.
These indicators came despite recent global economic developments and challenges, reflecting, according to the data, the stability of the banking sector and the national economy, as well as Egypt's ability to withstand external pressures.
