Egypt approved public-private partnership projects including a desalination plant in Suez with a capacity of one million cubic meters per day, another in Port Said, and water treatment plants.

The approvals included a plant in Port Said with a capacity of up to 900,000 cubic meters per day, and tendering four industrial wastewater treatment plants.
The package also included the concession for the Hadayek El-Asema transformer station, and the Ministry of Supply's contract with the X Trace consortium for a tracking and registration system.
The approvals came within the framework of Law No. 67 of 2010, which regulates private sector participation in these projects.
