Egypt Launches Karnak Arabic AI Model in Education, Translation, and Public Services
Egypt has deployed the Karnak Arabic AI model in education, translation, and public services, aiming to graduate 30,000 AI specialists by 2030.

Egypt has launched the Karnak artificial intelligence model specialized in the Arabic language, in a step that places it at the forefront of Arab nations seeking to build a digital infrastructure in their native language.
Karnak operates across three main pillars: education, by providing interactive content in Arabic for students; translation between Arabic and other languages; and digital government services that enable citizens to interact with government entities using natural language.
Egyptian officials revealed that the government aims to graduate 30,000 AI specialists by 2030, as part of a comprehensive national plan that includes scholarships and professional training programs in partnership with universities.
The launch of Karnak comes in the context of escalating competition in Arabic AI models, as both Saudi Arabia and the UAE seek to build their own models, while Egypt strengthens its position relying on its massive pool of Arabic content and qualified human cadres.
Large Language Model: A computer program trained on vast amounts of text to understand and generate language much like a human does, used in translation, answering questions, and content creation.
