Flydubai has extended the cancellation of its flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Abha until October 29, five days past the previous date, amid the disruption of thousands of flights.
Flydubai has extended the cancellation of its flights to Riyadh, Dammam, and Abha until October 29, five days past the previous expiration date for the cancellations, according to a report by Khaleej Times.
Data from Cirium quoted by the newspaper showed that more than 4,000 scheduled departures from Saudi airports were cancelled or not operated between October 8 and 15, accounting for about 46% of scheduled departures.
The cancellations come at a time when regional air traffic faces pressure following recent attacks, prompting carriers to adjust schedules and reduce flights to Saudi airports.
Travelers are waiting to see if the airline will extend cancellations beyond October 29, amidst anticipation for when flights to the three destinations will resume.
What Do These Terms Mean?
Scheduled Flight: A flight pre-listed in the airline's schedule, with a specific number and set departure and arrival times.
Temporary Cancellation: Halting the operation of one or more flights for a specified period, with the possibility of resuming them later rather than dropping them permanently.
Destination: The city or airport where a flight ends.
