Pathos Raises $237 Million Led by Bristol Myers at $3 Billion Valuation

Pathos, an AI drug development company, announced raising $237 million in a Series E funding round led by Bristol Myers Squibb, bringing the company's valuation to around $3 billion, according to STAT.

The company relies on its proprietary model, "Foundry," which deploys thousands of agents to calculate the probability of success for clinical assets by analyzing clinical, genomic, biological sample, and competitive developer data to identify promising drugs and design trials.

The company stated that the round will help advance four clinical assets in oncology, while expanding from oncology into neurological diseases using new datasets from Tempus AI and a partnership with Bristol Myers Squibb initially focusing on Alzheimer's treatments.

The funding represents a new bet on AI's ability to improve the odds of drug success in trials—a problem costing the pharmaceutical industry years and vast amounts of money, as most drugs entering trials never reach patients, according to STAT.
