Revolutionary Guard: Supertanker Explodes After Striking Mines in Hormuz
The Revolutionary Guard Naval Forces stated that a supertanker carrying crude oil exploded after striking naval mines while exiting Hormuz via an unauthorized route, without disclosing the vessel's name.

The Naval Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that a supertanker carrying crude oil exploded after striking naval mines while departing the Strait of Hormuz via an unauthorized route, according to Xinhua citing the Guard's "Sepah News" website.
The Revolutionary Guard stated that the tanker's navigation devices and GPS system were disconnected, and did not reveal the vessel's name, while this account remains issued by the Revolutionary Guard without independent verification.
This announcement came after the Revolutionary Guard announced on Friday the targeting of the LPG tanker "NV Sunshine" on an "illegal" route south of the strait, causing damage to its engine room and propulsion system.
Escalation continues around navigation in the waterway through which a large portion of global oil exports passes, and the Revolutionary Guard's accounts remain unconfirmed independently, while shipping and maritime security entities closely monitor the developments of the conflict.
