Saudi Arabia Voluntarily Reduces Its OPEC+ Quota in Response to Logistics Crisis

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced a new voluntary reduction in its oil production within the framework of the OPEC+ alliance, following logistical disruptions left by a drone attack on an Aramco pipeline, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Energy.

The statement explained that the step aims to avoid the accumulation of oil shipments at Saudi ports as a result of pumping disruptions, noting that the size of the reduction will be reviewed as soon as the system regains its full normal operation.

This step represents a remarkable turn in OPEC+ policy, as previous reductions aimed to support prices, whereas the current reduction came compulsorily due to an emergency circumstance related to infrastructure rather than a calculated pricing decision.
