CENTCOM: 97% of Ships Transited Hormuz Safely in a Week

U.S. Central Command spokesperson Tim Hawkins stated that 97% of ships that attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz were not hit by Iranian projectiles, at a time when the command emphasizes the continuation of maritime traffic.

Hawkins added that around 400 commercial ships transited the strait over the past seven days, stressing that Tehran has not achieved its goal of closing the waterway.

CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper said U.S. forces helped their Gulf partners move more than 100 million barrels of crude over the past week.

These figures intersect with an Iranian account claiming strikes occurred in the strait, while ship operators monitor daily transit data to assess insurance risks and alternative shipping routes.
