DeepSeek's model recorded a weekly usage of 33.6 trillion tokens across the OpenRouter platform, an 801% increase, leading globally, according to data reported by Global Times.

DeepSeek Leads Global Token Consumption with V4.1-Flash-1017 Model

The DeepSeek V4.1-Flash-1017 model topped the global weekly usage list for language models after recording 33.6 trillion tokens between October 19 and 25, an 801% increase from the previous week, according to OpenRouter data reported by nbd.com.cn.

Global consumption of language models reached 188 trillion tokens during this period, a 14.63% increase from the previous week. Chinese models accounted for 93.54 trillion tokens, up 18.14%, while US models recorded 22.47 trillion tokens.

Chinese models held the top five individual rankings, with MiniMax M3.1 Flash ranking third at 13.7 trillion tokens, Zhipu AI's GLM-5.3 Flash fourth at 13.2 trillion tokens, and Tencent's Hy4 Preview fifth at 8.97 trillion tokens.

Total consumption of Chinese models surpassed that of US models for 26 consecutive weeks. The surge in V4.1-Flash-1017 usage followed an update released by DeepSeek on October 17 to improve reasoning, programming, automation, and vision-related tasks.
