Dangote Seeks to Raise $1.6 Billion and Egypt Considers Depositary Receipts
Nigeria's Dangote Petroleum Refinery seeks to raise around $1.6 billion in its public offering, while the Egyptian Exchange considers issuing depositary receipts linked to its group's shares.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery aims to raise around $1.6 billion in its public offering in Nigeria, following an extension of the application deadline to October 27, according to the WAYA website.
The Egyptian Exchange stated that it is considering issuing Egyptian Depositary Receipts linked to Dangote Group's shares, in a move aimed at broadening investor participation in the offering.
Omar Radwan, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, stressed that no official launch date for the program has been set yet, confirming that the step is still under study, according to WAYA.
The company said that its officials' participation in an investor awareness session organized by the Egyptian Exchange comes as part of its effort to attract African capital, not just foreign capital, according to the same source.
