According to Yahoo Finance, citing Euronews, the Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA), Josef Aschbacher, outlines an estimated ten-year plan costing around 10 billion euros that would enable Europe to launch its astronauts into space and return them to Earth without relying on external parties.

The plan requires political approval from member states to secure funding, and a date for the funding decision has not yet been set, according to the report published on the Australian edition of the platform.

The agency compares the plan to the impact of maintaining the status quo, estimating that continued reliance on international astronaut partners will cost around 5 billion euros over the next ten years, money that goes toward purchasing seats and services rather than investing in European industry.
