Alibaba.com launched the agentic AI-powered platform Accio for small and medium-sized enterprises in Malaysia, and signed a memorandum of understanding with MATRADE that includes a Halal pavilion.

Alibaba Launches Accio to Help Small Malaysian Businesses Grow

Alibaba.com launched the agentic AI-powered Accio platform, offering services that include market research, product planning, supplier sourcing, store management, and buyer communication, according to Pokde.net.

The launch took place during the CoCreate Pitch 2026 finals in Kuala Lumpur on October 16, a competition that received over 2,300 applications and resulted in 10 finalists, with prizes valued at MYR 500,000.

Alibaba.com signed a memorandum of understanding with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), which includes a plan to establish a Halal pavilion.

The launch targets small and medium-sized enterprises in Malaysia, according to Pokde.net.

What do these terms mean?

Agentic AI: Artificial intelligence systems that perform multiple tasks and take sequential steps on behalf of the user.

MATRADE: A Malaysian government agency that works to develop exports and connect local companies with foreign markets.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): A preliminary agreement outlining the intention of two parties to cooperate in a specific field without being a fully binding contract.
