EU Binds Sanofi to Commitments in Flu Vaccine Case Without Fine

The European Commission has made Sanofi's commitments regarding the marketing of the flu vaccine Efluelda legally binding, thereby closing the antitrust case in Germany and France.

The Commission had preliminarily found that Sanofi might be a dominant company in the market, in a case concerning the competition between the Efluelda vaccine and CSL Seqirus's Fluad vaccine.

The Commission did not establish any infringement and did not impose a fine, with the commitments remaining in effect until March 2030 and including the appointment of a monitoring trustee.

The case was registered under number AT.40998.

What Do These Terms Mean?
