AI Revolutionizes Drug Discovery, Reducing Treatment Development Time from Decades to Years
Artificial intelligence has discovered new antibiotics and drugs for rare cancers in record time, while the AlphaFold model transformed fundamental protein understanding for drug development, amid massive investments from major pharmaceutical companies.

DeepMind Laboratories announced that its AlphaFold 3 model mapped accurate structures for over 200 million proteins, including the molecular basis of all forms of life, in what biologists described as the most significant leap in structural biology since the invention of the electron microscope, opening wide doors to designing drugs with unprecedented precision.
