UAE Attracts $362 Million of the $375 Million Raised by Regional Companies in August
The UAE accounted for $362 million of the $375 million raised by MENA region companies in August 2026, representing 97% of the region's total funding for the month.

The United Arab Emirates accounted for nearly $362 million out of $375 million raised in funding by Middle East and North Africa companies during August 2026, equivalent to about 97% of the total regional funding for that month.
This sharp distribution indicates a high concentration of venture capital flows in the UAE at the expense of the rest of the region's countries, reflecting the scale of the funding and regulatory environment established by Abu Dhabi and Dubai as major regional hubs for attracting startups and investment funds.
The $250 million deal for Moove, a mobility fintech company, alone constituted two-thirds of total regional funding in August, demonstrating how a single funding round can reshape the entire monthly statistical landscape.
The UAE is expected to continue leading the regional funding scene amid its initiatives to attract companies and tech talent, while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt seek to narrow the gap through incentive packages and accelerated regulatory reforms.
