Houthis Target Aden with Missiles as Coalition Intercepts Others Heading Towards Taif and Yanbu

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced that missiles targeted what he described as gatherings of the Saudi enemy at Al-Nasr camp and a naval base in Aden, according to the Türkiye Today news website. Saree said the attack came in response to Saudi strikes that the Houthis claim killed 16 people in Sanaa and Hodeidah, figures reported in Houthi media that have not been independently verified.

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior stated that the Coast Guard headquarters and an affiliated building in Tawahi were struck by bombardment.

In response, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted two missiles aimed at the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu in the west, according to Türkiye Today. Saudi Arabia's civil defence agency then broadcast warnings of "potential danger" for four western regions, including Taif, Yanbu and Mecca, and rescinded the alerts minutes later.

Yanbu is a major oil export hub on the Red Sea coast and has allowed Riyadh to bypass Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz for much of its crude exports, according to the source. The kingdom has come under repeated Houthi attacks in recent weeks targeting its oil infrastructure and airports, and an attack on Riyadh airport earlier this month killed 13 people and wounded dozens.
