The main Egyptian Stock Exchange index fell 1.66% to close at 48,416.94 points on Monday, in its third consecutive losing session, according to data from "Country Economy".
The index had closed at 49,234.35 points on October 25, down 3.56%, and at 51,052.26 points on October 22, down 3.41%, highlighting the severity of the sell-off wave in recent sessions.
The index has fallen 9.97% since the beginning of October, but remains up 15.75% since the start of 2026, according to the source.
A report by the "Al-Manassa" website attributed the continued losses to a sell-off wave by foreign investors, along with the US dollar rising to a new record high of 56.35 pounds, and fears over the ramifications of regional escalation after parliament approved military support for Saudi Arabia.
