Scatec and EBRD Launch $550 Million Renewable Energy Platform
Norway's Scatec and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have launched a $550 million renewable energy platform in Egypt, targeting 2.7 GW of solar and 900 MW of wind power.

Norway's «Scatec» and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have launched a renewable energy investment platform in Egypt, with Scatec owning 60% and the EBRD owning 40%, according to Reuters.
The EBRD committed up to $221 million to support the platform, including around $170 million in equity and the remainder as project-level guarantees.
The investment platform is valued at $550 million and aims to add 2.7 GW of solar power, 900 MW of wind power, and 4.2 GWh of battery storage in Egypt.
Egypt is seeking to expand its renewable energy capacity and attract international funding for major projects amid rising electricity demand. The move comes as part of a partnership between Scatec and a European finance institution investing in energy projects across emerging economies.
