IMF Raises Egypt's Growth Forecast to 5.1% and Lowers Inflation to 13.3%

The International Monetary Fund raised its growth forecast for the Egyptian economy in the 2025/26 fiscal year to 5.1%, up from 4.4% growth in the previous fiscal year, as reported by "Business Today Egypt".

The Fund lowered its inflation forecast for the same fiscal year to 13.3% from 20.4%, an improvement reflecting easing price pressures compared to the high rates recorded earlier.

The Fund projected that inflation will rise again to 14.8% in the 2026/27 fiscal year, indicating that the path of price slowdown may not be linear over the coming period.

The Fund's forecasts serve as an important reference for investors and international institutions when evaluating the Egyptian economy, as financing and credit rating decisions are frequently based on them.
