TikTok has permanently suspended the paid advertising account promoting director Alex Gibney's documentary on Elon Musk, according to a news agency report.
The platform informed distribution company Bleecker Street that it could no longer purchase ads or boost posts, attributing the decision to repeated violations of its political content policy.
Meanwhile, the film's organic account remains active, after Meta and YouTube initially rejected similar ads before reversing their decisions, while X platform refused to run them.
The decision highlights the varying platform policies toward political content and the challenges film distributors face in reaching audiences through paid ads.
