Google Ads Automatically Enables Promotion Extraction by Default

Google Ads has enabled automatic extraction of promotions from website pages and attached them to ads automatically, as reported by the "Relevant Audience" platform. The feature includes eligible Search and Performance Max campaigns.

Promotions such as coupons and discounts are extracted from landing pages and then added to the ad without manual intervention. Accounts are opted into the feature by default, meaning advertisers must manually disable it if they do not wish to use it.

Google specified that each promotion runs for less than 24 hours and is only renewed if the offer remains visible on the website. The feature can also be disabled with a single toggle across the entire account level, according to the source.

This move aligns with the platform's push toward campaign automation, where ad elements move automatically based on website content. Advertisers benefit from reduced manual labor, but lose some control over the advertising message's format and timing.

What do these terms mean?

Performance Max: A campaign type in Google Ads that automatically distributes ads across Google channels, selecting placements and budget using automated intelligence.

Landing page: The page a user reaches after clicking on an ad, serving as a key element in determining campaign quality.

Opt-out toggle: An option that allows disabling a feature or service enabled by default.
