Google Enables Advertisers to Prioritize Channels and Allocate Budgets Globally
Google has begun rolling out channel ordering and budget allocation tools globally in Search, Shopping, and Performance Max, with Demand Gen to follow at a later date.

Google has begun rolling out "channel ordering" and "budget allocation" tools globally in Search, Shopping, and "Performance Max" campaigns, to be followed by "Demand Gen" campaigns at a later stage, according to Search Engine Roundtable.
These controls allow advertisers to set the priority of each channel and its allocated budget shares, rather than leaving the distribution entirely to the platform's algorithms.
In the same daily coverage, the site noted the launch of version 26 of the Google Ads API, which adds SMS messaging, local services, Hotel Center accounts, lift measurement, European political content, and conversions.
Google also updated its policy on sexual content by adding examples under the "Sexually Suggestive Elements and Themes" section, which means clearer restrictions for advertisers in this space.
What do these terms mean?
Performance Max: A type of Google campaign that leaves the choice of ad placements and budget automatically to the algorithm to achieve the best results.
Budget Allocation: Dividing the ad spend amount across multiple channels or campaigns according to shares set by the advertiser.
Ads API: A technical channel allowing companies to manage their campaigns and programmatic data on Google automatically without using the manual interface.
